The 2013 Volkswagen Jetta GLI has been redesigned from the ground up when it launches with a new platform and new performance and power-train. The latest model of Jetta may come with the Volkswagen Group’s versatile new MQB platform which is meant to strengthen a range of company’s upcoming vehicles. The Jetta GLI has been widely known as one of the great family sedans that comes with high-quality cabin, refined and quiet ride, available fuel-efficient turbo-diesel engine, top safety scores and competent V6 engine.

Interior

The base model of 2013 Volkswagen Jetta GLI will be included with several standard interior features such as full power accessories, advanced air-conditioning system, a 6-way manual driver seat with lumbar adjustment, cloth upholstery, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, audio controls on the steering wheel, cruise control, a trip computer, satellite navigation and driver-assist systems, Bluetooth phone connectivity with streaming audio, a 6-speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio input. There will be also an available Appearance package that includes a rear-seat center armrest.

Exterior

On the outside, the VW Jetta GLI comes packed with standard 16 inches steel or alloy wheels, automatic headlights, keyless entry, chrome exterior trim, variable intermittent wipers, rear defogger, power glass sunroof, steel spare wheel, 235/45R18 94H tires, all season tires, inside mounted spare tire and temporary spare tire, a power glass sunroof and fog lights. Towards the suspension system, the latest Jetta GLI will come with Macpherson strut front suspension, multi-link rear suspension, four-wheel independent suspension and front and rear stabilizer bar. In terms of sizing, this family sedan measures 72.2 inches in width, 58.5 inches in height and 191.6 inches in length.

Engine

Under the hood, the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-5 engine that can deliver 170 hp and 177 pound-feet of torque with the transmission options of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. With this engine, the Jetta GLI can accelerate from zero to 60 MPH in approx. 9 seconds. The estimated fuel economy for Jetta GLI with the manual transmission is at 22 MPG city or 32 MPG highway and 26 MPG combined. The petrol engine version of Jetta GLI may come with start-stop technology to the diesel-powered engines in order to help meet Euro VI emissions standards.
