All show and all go – this sweet ST packs 300bhp of supercharged shove.

Killer Combination

Andy says, “If anything, it will produce more power, but for now it’s perfect. I was told the standard clutch and gearbox would be weak points, but mine are fine. When they fail I’ll fit a six paddle clutch and maybe do an MTX75 conversion.”

Of course, big-power STs are tempting. Jamsport’s larger supercharger or even a turbo kit could be on the cards, but not while this Fiesta is Andy’s daily driver. Instead there will be a gradual transition to a more track based spec, albeit firmly focused on fashion.

First will come a few cockpit upgrades, with Recaro CS seats, Momo steering wheel and custom, carbon-wrapped centre console (including gauges for boost, oil pressure and temperature)all awaiting installation. Andy also plans harnesses, along with a set of BC coilovers, which he reckons will enable the ST to sit lower for shows – again, hitting that happy balance between work and play. “It’s going to be stiffer and better looking,” insists Andy. “Eventually it will be a complete track car, but for the moment I’ll just enjoy driving it.” All show andall go? Well, it seems that this fiery little Fiesta has it all.

Tech Spec Fiesta ST

Engine

1999cc Duratec four-cylinder with forged rods and pistons, ported cylinder head, upgraded valve springs, Cosworth-spec cams, Jamsport stage 2.5 supercharger conversion with Airtec intercooler and Auto Specialists inlet manifold, Mountune four-into-one exhaust manifold, sports catalyst and cat-back section.

Its turbocharged 1.6-litre Ecoboost petrol engine combines 179bhp and 214lb ft outputs with 47.9mpg and 138g/km economy figures. The former figure is 19bhp off the pace of its Clio 200 and 208 GTI foes, but the little Ford is still good for a 6.9sec 0-62mph dash – making it the quickest Fiesta yet.
