It’s official scion’s FR-S is SEMA’s hottest car!
We're fairly confident you've noticed the huge amount of
attention the Scion FR-S (as well as its Subaru counterpart, the BRZ) received
at this year's SEMA Show; we did, too. Found in nearly every nook and cranny
of the aftermarket mecca was the car in various shades of color, with different
stages of power adders and even more aero/wheel options thought imaginable.
It's no secret we're big fans of the FR-S (shameless plug: c'mon, props on our
Garage FR-S build its pretty dope), so we set out to find our favorite builds.
The Scion FR-S
In 2013, the FR-S will be seeing serious race time in the
Pirelli World Challenge GTS class with the Stout Racing FR-S. Headed by Robert
Stout, this car is built to spec but also sports some really cool parts,
like Vertex aero, body panels and roll cage, MoTeC engine management and a
TRD supercharger kit, just to name a few.
This mocha hued FR-S is the brainchild of John Toca, who
used FiveAD aero to offset his Cor Cipher 3-piece wheels and color matched
KSport big brake calipers to Second place. It packs plenty of audio punch with
a full Soundstream system, and has a nice power upgrade in the form of a
Vortech V-3 H67 supercharger.
Last, but definitely not least is Daniel Song's race/GT inspired
FR-S. He sought out the design skills of Jon Sibal to help kick this car into
'highly aggressive' territory, combining parts from MV Designs, APR and a full
carbon wrap by Daley Visuals to really set the car off. The interior is all
race, with a custom roll cage by Garage Life, and underneath the hood is a
Vortech supercharger kit (popular at SEMA!). Rough, rugged and raw!

One of the most talked about cars at SEMA in general not
just because it was a FR-S and parked at the Scion booth was Evasive's fully
customized race car. This isn't a show car, though it looks fking marvelous,
and is actually built to take on time attack and the infamous Pike's Peak
International Hill Climb. Form and function? You bet!
Greddy x rocket bunny crew
Ok, so this body kit made it onto more than one FR-S and you
either loved or hated on it. Judging by our fellow Rocket Bunny clan, we think
we did a pretty awesome job representing the kit along with Mackin Industries
(blue), Fatlace (red) and JDM Sport (Robert Kochis', orange).

One car that probably went largely unnoticed perhaps because
of a less than desirable location at the show (tucked way out in BFE) was N1
Concept's radically customized FR-S. Perhaps right on the level rivaling that
of Evasive's, the body has plenty of custom body work and is currently being
tested at tracks across California to see its potential. Rudge match anyone?
KW FR-S with Rotora brakes and ADVAN RSII wheels.
Cusco's FR-S caught exiting the building...
Pioneer Electronics hosted the FiveAD FR-S, but the trick
stuff isn't just the aero or wheels-in fact, Pioneer's latest audio
offerings, including a space age head unit, flush mounted dash speakers and
subs in the trunk rocked the show.

kind: Vortech equipped FR-S at the Vortech booth.
