The S Class being a luxury model combines stunning looks and some serious power under the hood.

The direct genealogy of the S-Class began in 1951 when the 6-cylinder Mercedes-Benz 220 model appeared at the first International Motor Show in Frankfurt. Even this very first model boasted a high standard of equipment and delivered effortlessly superior performance. Having churned out several successful cars over the years, Mercedes has managed to capture Indian markets and rule it for quite some years.

The S Class being a luxury model combines stunning looks and some serious power under the hood. The S550 recently ditched its naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 in favor of a 4.7-liter V8. Despite its smaller displacement, the engine boasts 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque - far better than the old motor's 382 ponies and 391 lb-ft of twist - thanks to a pair of turbochargers. For those who don't understand much of the technical jargon, the S Class has enough horses in there to travel at the speed to 250 km/hr.
