Adding a Contact

If you want to add a contact not already linked to an email account or social network, you can manually add that person. When you do, the contact that you add is synchronized to the mailbox of your choice. To add someone to your list of contacts, open the People hub and follow these steps:

1. Flick the display to the All page.

2. Tap the + icon to add a new contact.

3. Tap the + icon next to the Name option.

Choosing a Mailbox

If you have more than one email account configured for your phone, it asks you to specify the account where you want to store your new contact.

4. Enter the contact’s name and any other relevant information, such as a nickname or the company the person works for.

5. Tap the Save icon.

6. Provide any additional profile information you want to add, such as a phone number, an email address, or a custom ringtone.

Syncing in New Contacts

Windows Phone automatically syncs in any new contacts you add directly to your email provider. For example, if you use your PC web browser to add someone to your Yahoo! email account, that contact automatically is added to your phone’s People list the next time it syncs.
