Chatting with Friends
Windows Phone 8 devices enable you to chat
with your social networking friends (Facebook and Messenger) directly
through your phone. To do so, open the Messaging tile and follow these
steps:
1. Flick the screen to access the Online page.
2. Tap the person you want to chat with.
3. Enter your message.
4. Tap the Send icon.
Setting Your Chat Status
You can manually set your chat status at any time by opening the Messaging app and following these steps:
1. Flick the screen to the Online page.
2. Tap the Status icon.
3. Tap your desired status.
Notifications
You can use Windows Phone 8 to view
notifications from your social networks. To do so, open the Me tile and
complete the following steps:
1. Flick the screen to the Notifications screen.
2. This screen lists any recent notifications you’ve received. Tap the notification you want to view.
Mixed Updates
The Notifications screen contains
notifications from Facebook, Twitter, and any other social networking
sites you have configured through your phone.
