Windows Mobility Center is a handy little utility that puts all the commonly used mobile device settings in one place.
With Windows Mobility Center you can:
• Adjust screen brightness.
• Adjust sound volume.
• Display battery status.
• Change your screen orientation from portrait to landscape and vice versa.
• Change monitor output either by
adjusting display settings or by projecting your screen on an external
monitor. For example, when you make a presentation, Windows 8 turns off
system notifications.
• Monitor Sync Center to change settings and check your synchronization status.
Mobile device manufacturers can modify
Mobility Center, adding additional tiles and functionality to it. Note
that Mobility Center is available only on laptops and tablets; it is
not available on PCs or mobile phones.
To open Windows Mobility Center
• Press +X. (This keystroke works on mobile devices only. On a PC, it will open the Computer Management menu.)
• Tap or click the Mobility Center tile on the Start screen that came with your device.
• Open the Control Panel, change the view to small icons, and click the Windows Mobility Center icon.
Whichever method you use to get there, Windows Mobility Center appears on your screen .
Use Windows Mobility Center to quickly adjust your laptop or tablet’s hardware settings.
Tip
All the icons in the Windows
Mobility Center are shortcuts to control panel features. For example,
you can click the Brightness icon to modify the screen’s display in the
power plan.
