MacBook Pro Retina Display
The Retina MacBook Pro is not only a
groundbreaking release, combining stunning performance and portability in a 15m
Mac laptop; this model will also force you to change the way you interact with
a laptop. The Retina Display’s numbers are mind-boggling: 2,880 x 1,800 pixels
- that’s 220 pixels per inch - for a total of 5.18 million pixels on a 15.4in
backlit screen. When the Retina MacBook Pro is set at its (Best) Retina
setting, it’s spectacular — the detail in photos is great, and text is the
crispest and cleanest it’s ever been.

Apple
has added a Thunderbolt port to its Mac mini desktop, which sports new
processors and discrete graphics as well.
These Mac mini models provide a great leap
forward in processor performance over the previous generation. The previous Mac
mini generation featured a single configuration: a US$918 model with a 2.4GHZ
Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of DDR3 SDRAM, a 320GB SATA hard drive, and Nvidia
GeForce 320M integrated graphics. Apple has replaced that with two new models,
which feature more powerful Intel Core i5 processors. In addition to returning
to two configurations, the mini line-up is also returning to its old pricing
structure, with a lower entry price of US$793.5. The new mini retains the shape
of its predecessor, though there’s no optical drive. That’s the clearest sign
yet that Apple believes the future belongs to digital downloads. That would
also explain the addition of Thunderbolt, an interface technology that promises
high-speed input and output.

There’s also a Mac mini with Lion Server
available, which is a good ‘do it all’ server for smaller networks with up to
25 users or so.
iPhone 5
Apple has finally announced the
long-awaited and eagerly-anticipated iPhone 5. The device is considerably
lighter and thinner than the 4S. It also has a taller, 4in screen that allows
an additional row of icons to be displayed on the home screen, and the Retina
display ensures that photos and video look fantastic.
.
The iPhone 5’s camera is now smaller, with new, improved features and a
Panorama mode.
The iPhone 5 also has 4G LTE capabilities,
and EE (Everything Everywhere) will be making this feature available n the UK
for the first time. The new handset is said to have better Wi-Fi too. The
device is powered by a new A6 processor, which Apple claims is two times faster
than the A5, The battery life has also been improved, though we have yet to
test this for ourselves. The iPhone 5’s camera is now smaller, with new,
improved features and a Panorama mode. Video has been improved too.
Apple has introduced a new dock ‘Lightning’
connector, which is smaller than its predecessor, so you’ll need to buy an
adapter for older accessories.
New iPad
With the runaway success of the original
iPad and then the iPad 2, the latest release has a lot to live up to. Like its
predecessors Apple has chosen to focus on a few areas of improvement, while
keeping the package the same. By far the most important feature is the Retina
display. Its 97m screen now has a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels. The
result is pin sharp images.
It
comes with a 5-megapixel camera that’s better than any other tablet, and the
dictation feature will prove a boon to many.
To power the screen, Apple has added its AX
processor, which blows aways all other iOS devices in terms of graphics
performance. It also comes with a 5-megapixel camera that’s better than any
other tablet, and the dictation feature will prove a boon to many.
The third-generation iPad is just that -
the Pad updated for millions of users. It’s not smaller or lighter than its
predecessors, but it’s got a remarkable Retina display and a much better
camera.
