2014 Cadillac ELR – Cadillac ELR has gotten so many demands from the brand’s loyalist or people who just interested in having this car since it starts its debut in 2011 as a concept car. A year after, the company makes it clear that Cadillac ELR’s concept will finally going to mass production and coming with hybrid technology. Until at 2013 Detroit Auto Show, Cadillac ELR was officially made its world debut as a production version and ready to be launched in early 2014 in North America, followed by the expanding sales to Europe and China.
Exterior
Built under the same platform and engine line up with the Chevrolet Volt doesn’t make 2014 Cadillac ELR lose its own identity. The company has done their best to distinguish these two cars and the result is very satisfactory. The ELR offers two fewer door than the Volt, it is also 10 inches longer and wider. The ELR takes its design from the Converj Concept that resembles a luxury and a progressive design. The body still consists typical of Cadillac’s vertical headlights and vertical LED taillights as well as the trapezoidal grille. Besides giving the best on the elegant side, the company is also focusing on the aerodynamic style and function so that it will probably slip through the air with minimal drag. That’s the reason why it gets a flush front fascia and active shutters grilles behind the grille opening, aswell as pointed fascia corners. Interior

If you mind having chrome or woods, then the carbon fiber trim is also available as your option. 2014 Cadillac ELR will also be equipped with Cadillac CUE with navigation system displayed on eight-inch full-color gesture recognition touch screen located on the center of instrument panel.
Engine
The ELR uses 16.5 kWH T-shapped lithium-ion battery pack that delivers 2017 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque and added by 1.4 L 4V electric generator that produces 84 hp, which the same engine line up like the Chevy Volt. But the most interesting fact of 2014 Cadillac ELR is the regenerative braking system that helps use the braking’s heat energy, which what doesn’t exist in Volt. This vehicle is absolutely slower than 2014 Chevrolet SS.
Price
The company has not announced the ELR’s price yet. But if we do our own math, with the same engine as Volt, and upgraded features as well as stylish and premium profile. 2014 Cadillac ELR may cost about $70,000.
