By default, Windows 8 creates your user
account in such a way that it uses your Windows Live login to manage
your settings across all your computers, no matter how many PCs and
devices you may use to access Windows 8. You can do away with the
synchronizing over the web if you want to, but you give up having the
ability to sync your settings between your various computers. Start in
the PC Settings screen.
>>>step-by-step
1. Click or tap Users on the left side of the screen.
2. Tap or click Switch to a Local Account. The Change to a Local Account screen appears.
3. Windows 8 prompts you for your password. Type it in the box provided.
4. Click Next.
5. On the Change to a Local Account screen, enter the user name you’ll use to sign in to Windows 8.
6. Type (and then retype) your password.
7. Enter a password hint to remind you of the password in case you forget it later.
8. Click
Next. Windows prompts you to save any work in progress and lets you know
that some apps may ask you to log in before you can view app
information. Click Sign Out and Finish to complete the process.
Linking Your Account Again
It
may be that you find that your local account doesn’t cost you anything
in terms of apps that don’t display properly or settings that don’t
synchronize. But you can switch your account to a Microsoft account if
you like, by choosing Users in the PC Settings screen and clicking or
tapping Switch to a Microsoft Account. Windows 8 walks you through the
process of signing back in and linking your user account settings to a
Microsoft account.
