After going through many tests, 2014 model year of 2014 Aston Martin Rapide S is released in more powerful version than the standard version that has been manufactured during 2010-2013. As replacement of the out going Rapide, the new 2014 Aston Martin S will be equipped with many improvement especially in engine line up and performance quality that resembles “the most powerful four-door Aston Martin to date.”

Exterior

The new Rapide S over all look seems not have so much change compared to the previous version. The face of Rapide S is now wider because of the new ‘full’ grille which is larger than before. For the hood line, it just being re-contoured and raised in order to meet EU pedestrian impact standards. It also gets an addition of trunk lid “flip” spoiler to support its aerodynamic aspect. Another change include new lower bonnet that makes the engine become 0.74 inch lower and front fender structure. For the new generation of Rapide S, Aston Martin also offers Carbon Exterior Package includes front splitter, rear diffuser, mirror caps, and rear lamps as an option. All stuffs are exactly made from carbon fiber material.

Interior

Though the improvement made are more focus on performance issue, the company makes sure that all consumer will not lose Rapide S’ comfortable and luxurious cabin just like what they will find on the outgoing Rapide. Inside, you will find new sport seats coated by black Alcantara with well red bolstered that not only adds the luxury sense but also makes your comfortable seems to long last during the trip. Most of its interior is made in shining piano jet black with aluminum and wood trim as its complement. Aston Martin also provides you with darker surrounded instrument panel that fit the ergonomic aspect. You will find the gauges are well arranged in counter-clockwise setup which is considered more accessible.

Engine

Under the hood, it is where you will find 2014 Aston Martin Rapide S’ major change. A new version of AM11 6.0 L V12 engine that delivers 17% more horsepower and 3% more torque is planted as its powertrain, giving it a total of 558 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. Top speed of 190 mph will be reached, while it runs faster than the predecessor, from 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. Improved Dynamic Stability Control which offer three driving settings, Normal, Sport, and Track also given to support its performance. That’s why this car is faster than 2014 BMW X4 but also slower than 2014 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
