2013 New York Auto Show has become a starting point for General Motor to introduce their new generation Buick line ups which consist of 2014 Buick LaCrosse and 2014 Buick Regal. The two cars come with many updates both outside and inside and new technology upgrades both for the instrument panel and engine system. New for the Regal mid-size sedan, for this model year it will be available in all-wheel drive system.
Exterior
Cosmetic tweaks which given to the new Buick Regal including the replacement of the old front and rear fascia with the refreshed one. The headlights also completed by new LED daytime running lights, while the emitting diodes also reach the rear side, to the place where wing-shaped, metallic band connected taillights that give the new Regal more attractive appearance is set. New grille also gives a distinctive look; while the best optic part of the sedan is still on the Nike-like swoosh that stamping the flanks. That’s why this car is more elegant look than 2014 Giugiaro Parcour.
Interior
As on the outside, 2014 Buick Regal also offers new interior design that also completed with upgraded technology features. Addition of new center stack console however makes it looks like Opel Insignia, but with European manner. It’s somehow more accessible with just seven buttons, less than the old console which is flooded by 17 buttons. 4.2-inch color screen also put between the speedometer and tachometer, providing easier view for vehicle’s information, navigation, and other features. The GS Regal model even gets bigger 8-inch digital screen to display the instrument cluster. Completing the instrument cluster, next-generation of IntelliLink with 8-inch touchscreen display is available as its infotainment system. Significant upgrades are also given to he technology features. 2014 Buick Regal will come with radar-based adaptive cruise control, camera-based system for the Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Landing, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert Sytems. All these upgrades are perfectly wrapped in two-tone interior themes with wood trim.
Engine
The base Regal may not have significant change in engine system, it still carry the old mild-hybrid system with 2.4 L V4 engine and small electric motor. Different treatment is done for the GS model, where more powerful 2.0 L Turbocharged V4 engine is put under the hood, creating 259 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, down 11 hp from the last GS but up 39 hp from the Turbo model. Six speed automatic or manual transmissions are available for 2014 Buick Regal. It also can be fitted with all-wheel drive system.
Price
2014 Buick Regal is gonna hit the dealer in this fall, while the official price will be announced near the release date.
