2014 Ford Explorer is probably one on of the most famous car on earth. Debuting on early 90s, Ford Explorer has now on their fifth generation and has been through a long history. On early 2000s, Ford Explorer had to deal with ‘Rollover and Firestone Tire Controversy’ which happened because tire failure, or inadequate safety control in general. Ford seems to take this matter seriously and improved their safety aspect more. This is shown by the new 2014 Ford Explorer which has improved their safety plus makes users comfort as its main consideration.

Exterior

Instead of being truck-like like its predecessor, 2014 Ford Explorer chooses to have car-like persona. It has crossover SUV style on its straight lines and sharp angles. Very Ford-like, is should say. It also has big back-glass area, three-bar grille, and tall body without being like a big expedition SUV. Interior

Inside 2014 Ford Explorer cabin, you will find a luxurious and upscale ambiance. For the interior, it used high quality materials. Knowing that previous explorer had miserable plastic-material-like cabin, this is much better. As for the features in this car, Ford is giving its best. I dare to say that 2014 Ford Explorer brings one of the most advance technologies on its class to the cabin. Only in basic feature, you can get Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control; power lock, window, and mirror; steering wheel audio control, telescoping steering wheel. Ask for more? You can upgrade to full feature so that you can get leather setting, pushbutton start, Sony sound system, ambient lighting, a rearview camera, power-adjustable pedal, SYNC and MyFord Touch, navigation system, ventilated seats, active park assist, power third-row seats, and blind spot monitor. As for safety features, Ford seems to have been learn a lot by turning 2014 Ford Explorer as one of the safest car on road. This car is equipped with a lot of accident avoidance tools such as; inflatable rear-seat belt, stability control and trailer-sway control. All of this dedication is paid off, because 2014 Ford Explorer has earned top “good” score on both major crash-tests that was held by IIHS.

Engine

All 2014 Ford Explorer comes with six-speed automatic transmission 3.5L V6 with 290 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque engine. This is absolutely slower than 2014 Lamborghini Aventador engine. With this engine, the driver can choose between using front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It also included hill start assist and hill descent control. You can also choose on all front-wheel drive Explorer which powers by turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with 240 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque. Behind the wheel, 2014 Ford Explorer is very smooth, but unfortunately it feels larger and less maneuverable than it’s supposed to.
