2014 Subaru Forester is a muscle-bound station wagon that has evolved in prominence within the Subaru model line. The designers have redesigned this new generation of Forester by improving the body styling, performance, fuel economy and safety features. As a result, this car turns out to be the more comfort and sturdy vehicle as compared to its predecessor. There are 2 variants of the new Forester namely the aspirated 2.5i and the turbocharged 2.0 XT. The 2.5i version is available in Base, Premium, Limited and loaded-for-bear Touring trims. Interior
The 2.5i Base version of 2014 Subaru Forester comes with carpeted floor-mats, 4.3 inches multi-function display with readouts for outside temperature and fuel economy and some other improvements and innovations. The Premium version has an upgraded audio system, 10-way power driver’s seat, rear-vision camera, 6.1 inches multi-function display, reclining rear seatback along with the dark-tint privacy rear glass. The Limited model offers leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, an enhanced instrument cluster with LCD display and also a power rear gate. The Touring provides the touch-screen navigation system, Harman Kardon 440-watt/8-speaker audio system, smartphone integration, electroluminescent instrument cluster with LCD display and a one-touch folding rear seatback.
Exterior
In general, the 2014 Subaru Forester comes with the longer wheelbase and bolder-looking body but it’s still smaller than 2013 Buick Enclave. The car now comes with the updated evolutionary look featuring the hawk eye headlights flanking a bit taller hexagonal grille in the front. The Turbocharged 2.0XT versions has been added with the more aggressive front bumper, a one-piece mesh grille, black side cladding along with the dual stainless steel exhaust tips.
Engine
The 2014 Subaru Forester base 2.5i models boast the carryover 2.5-liter flat 4-cylinder engine with six-speed manual transmission which can generate 170 horsepower and 174 lb-ft. of torque. The turbocharged 2.0 XT models come with the brand new 2.0-liter boosted flat 4-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower ( slower than 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder ) and 258 lb-ft. of torque. This engine is a turbocharged version of the unit that powers the Subaru BRZ sports car. On the Forester 2.5i Limited, Touring, and all of the 2.0 XT models, there will be a new X-Mode feature that can optimize control of the engine, transmission, Active AWD, brakes and more.
