The
engine was a pretty decent spec with all the right bits
Sunny side of the street
Looking at the pictures on these pages
you can see where he’s coming from - it’s a really nice straight car in that unusual
yellow. The bumperless look oozing a racer feel, coupled up with an extensive
cage, stripped-out interior and perspex windows. It’s purposeful without
looking like a ratty street racer.
Anglia 105E
“It had Lotus steels on it when I got
the car, but they really aren’t my cup of tea,” Paul says. “I couldn’t wait to
get rid of them.”
This is quite a shift from the norm,
but in this case you can’t argue that he’s wrong. The lemon paintwork is set
off perfectly with the colour- coded Revolution four-spokes wrapped up in
Yokohama A539 rubber, yet still managing to look period racer style.
Anglia gets driven to track days, then
given some serious abuse on circuit, and it loves it!
As you can tell Paul likes to get the
AngIia out on track and give it a good kicking, however don’t be fooled into
thinking it’s trailered. We caught up with him at Brands Hatch and we asked him
about his lack of trailer and toolkit?
“I would drive Keith anywhere. I’m
going to give it some abuse, then I’m off to an Old Skool Ford meet in
Brentwood, then off home. I carry a few tools in a Tupperware box – a couple of
spanners, two screwdrivers that sort of things. If I can’t fix it with them
it’s going home on the back of a recovery truck again,” laughs Paul.
Anglia 105E
So what does Paul have in mind for the
future? “I want more power without spending a fortune,” he tells us (well,
that’s what we all want isn’t it!), “up to 160 bhp, ideally.” With sentiments
like that and a refreshingly relaxed attitude, expect to see lots more of Keith
the Anglia tearing round the track and hopefully not on the back of a recovery
truck.
