Tip

A feature called DirectAccess is available in Windows 8 to users accessing a network with a Windows server. This type of remote access connection lets users securely access enterprise shares, websites, and applications without connecting through a VPN. To use this feature, an administrator must run RRAS on the server and your device must be an authenticated client.
