For the 2014, Nissan will add a slightly different front end styling which includes the brand new LED running lights to the 2014 Nissan Leaf. There will be also the refined suspension dampers for the Sport package buyers will also get some of the optional features when obtaining the Touring trim. Some of the advantages of having this sports car will be the good handling and braking, nifty match manual transmission, excellent V6 engine, compliant highway ride, top-quality interior and relatively low cost. The coupe and convertible Leaf body styles are available in two main trim levels namely Base and Touring.
Interior
Inside of the 2014 Nissan Leaf, there will be some upgraded interior features like heated mirrors, keyless ignition/entry, cruise control, automatic climate control, 8-way manual driver seat, leather-wrapped tilt-only steering wheel, 4-speaker sound system, CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. The Touring version includes heated power seats which include 8-way driver and 4-way passenger, leather/faux-suede upholstery, rear cargo cover for the coupe, auto-dimming rear view mirror, Bluetooth phone connectivity, 8-speaker Bose sound system, 6-CD changer, satellite and HD radio along with the heated and ventilated seats. The Touring model is also available with Navigation Package which includes navigation system, touch screen interface, real-time traffic and weather, Bluetooth streaming audio, rearview camera and an iPod/USB audio interface.
Exterior
In terms of the standard exterior equipments, the new Nissan Leaf equips the 18 inches wheels, automatic bi-xenon headlights and LED running lights. The base and Touring models have been also added with the Sport Package which adds limited-slip differential, 19 inches forged alloy wheels, upgraded brakes and suspension dampers, unique front and rear fascias, a bigger rear wing, rear spoiler and a front chin spoiler.
Performance
To boost the overall performance, the all new Nissan Leaf is powered by the 3.5-liter V6 engine that can generate power-train of total 312 hp and maximum torque of 290 pound-feet. The standard gearbox option will be the 6-speed manual transmission while the optional gearbox is the7-speed automatic with shift paddles on the steering wheel and the advanced manual transmission.
Pricing
The price range of 2014 Nissan Leaf starts from $33,120 and the Coupe Touring is priced at $40,820. It is less expensive than 2014 Kia Ceed GT price tag. The Convertible/Roadster Base model will cost about $42,470 while the Roadster Touring costs $44,170. The strong rivals in this segment are the 2013 Infiniti G coupe and convertible, sport coupe 2013 Scion FR-S and 2013 Subaru BRZ.
