Together with the standard 911 Turbo, Porsche has unveiled their new 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S line ups before the official launch at 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show this fall. Commemorating their 911’s 50th anniversary and Turbo’s 40th anniversary, the company has offered the some kind of transformation to their powerful and performance oriented Turbos starting from using new platform until redesigning its both exterior and interior side.
Exterior
2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S comes with unique cosmetic tweaks. The most significant updates found in its bigger dimension with addition of 1.1 long and wider rear body panels compared to the biggest-no-more Porsche Carrera 4. Not only that wider body, the new 911 Turbo S also gets larger air intakes, twin exhaust system and 20-inch forged alloy wheels with center-lock design that is special featured on the 911 Turbo S as its standard feature. It also gets new full-LED headlights with four-point daytime running lights and high-low beam control based on camera to complete its redesigning, which is become alternative options if you buy the standard 911 Turbo. All new Porsche 911 Turbo will be featured by Actives Aerodynamics System including the Turbo S for the first time. It will help the aerodynamic aspect and stability control of the vehicle by pairing adjustable front spoiler and adjustable rear wing. Improved material used like aluminum structure also gives another aerodynamic impact to the new 911 Turbo S, while new and bigger and longer wheelbase will also support its better performance.
Interior
Inside both 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S and Turbo also receive new touch and complete redesigning. Special for 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S, exclusive leather upholstery will be featured here with the same black or red color like the Carrera. To enhance your racing atmosphere and give higher level of excitement during driving the new 911 turbo S, 18-way sport seats and Bose sound system is offered. If you still want something more, the company also provides another option for you starting from Burmeister audio package which is more premium than the Bose, radar-controlled cruise control, camera-based road sign, and speed limit recognition system.
Engine
In the heart of 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S’s performance, there is a 3.8 L direct-injected V6 engine that brings 30 more power to 560 hp, while the transmission is all new and for the first time used, seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic. While the standard Turbo runs from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, it will make it faster to just 2.9 seconds with top speed of 198 mph. This car is absolutey faster than 2013 Aston Martin Rapide Shooting Brake Jet 2+2 Concept by Bertone.
Price
2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S will be ready on sale by the end of this year with base price of $182,050.
