2014 Ram 1500 – Ram 1500 still stands as one the best choice in pick up segment with its fuel economy and cabin finishes. For the new 2014 model year, Ram pick up also seemingly enhances and improvement its performance by adding the first turbo diesel engine on its line up, completing its highest EPA rating for its base V6 engine. Unlike its other competitors which offer some new treatment for their profile, 2014 Ram 1500 basically still goes with the same look just like when it went under the Dodge’s umbrella.
Exterior
Last year’s updates that finally made the 2014 Ram 1500 get closer with its rival, Ford F-150, both for the utility and performance issue apparently become one consideration for Chrysler to just give small tweaks for the next model, which is the 2014 Ram 1500. The truck indeed has that typical look that has made it stands out from other competitors with its scaled-down big-rig profile, and with the addition of some new elements that actually a carryover from the last year’s revamped, included taller grille, flushing crosshair grille, new fog lamps and twin-beam projector with LED running lights headlamps, turning signals, side-marker lamps, and tail lamps, 2014 Ram 1500 is ready to rock the truck market. Chrysler also adds more body paint options that make it has a total of 12 choices for the costumer. New polished stainless steel running boards with wheel-to-wheel design that allows the aerodynamics and fuel efficiency’s increasing also still offered.
Interior
Ram 1500 is known with its most refined interior, and for 2014 model year the truck’s interior is still fantastic even with a carryover from its predecessor. The only noticeable changed found in the cabin are the switchover to F1234yf refrigerant in the standard air conditioning, and all-new front park assist system that will be found on the option list, while the rest interior materials and features are still bringing the same comfort and homey feeling for the occupants.
Engine
Gas mileage has become Chrysler’s focus on making 2014 Ram 1500 catches up its competitor. And with some tweaks here and there, 2014 Ram 1500 seems to make it right. The replacement of 215 hp, 3.7 L V6 engine with a 3.6 LPentastar V6 engine that develops 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque should become one of Ram 1500’s best momentum. It finally gives the truck chance to be in the same place as the base Ford F-150. Now, another breakthrough also given by setting up a new 3.0 L EcoDiesel V6 engine with 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, while the HEMI 5.7 L V8 engine will remain the most powerful 2014 Ram 1500’s engine line ups. This is less powerful than 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor.
