British
shoe company Clarks Originals and creative pattern designers Patternity have
teamed up to design a classic desert boot in collaboration with each other. The
micro collection includes several different finishes which feature on the new
desert boot style, each with their own pattern, colour way and finish (leather
and suede). The pattern used throughout the designs was put together by the
founders of Patternity, Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham. They first
founded their innovative pattern company in 2009 and have since branched out to
work with several big companies including Apple, providing stimulating and
interesting patterns. They have already splashed their unique patterns on
clothing, homeware, ceramics and more.
Patternity
founder Murray commented on teaming up with Clarks, stating that the two
businesses share a similar mindset when it comes to design and they also value
the history of the company which was founded in 1825. Anna, who began working
as a photographer before founding the business, said about the collaboration is
a passionate one because she feels they are very similar as
companies: “With Clarks we share not only a passion for detail, but also
value the same importance of brand history.”
Available
in basic monochrome and neutral tones, the new desert boots each feature
triangular and circular patterns all over, giving the otherwise classic design
a new, fun twist. The simple pattern design feature gives the boot a stunning
makeover that is eye-catching yet wearable.
The
Patternity x Clarks Originals desert boots are now currently available online
and in stores, and cost £89 GBP.
