Opel Fruit As Opel
Nutter Michael
Grab your sunnies as opel nutter Michael Legrand shows
off his brightest creation to date!
Taking
on a fairly unpopular motor as a project is a pretty brave move! People may
point and laugh as they poke fun at your new car but if like our mate Michael
Legrand you can nail it, then you’ll fast become a legend amongst men!
Belgium-based modder Michael has been a big fan of the Opel brand since his dad
first introduced them to him all those years ago. Ever since then he’s stuck
true to what he knows and a few cars later he’s onto his latest build. Michael
started off his motoring life with an Opel Corsa F. A Corsa B then followed,
before he moved onto the Opel Adam that you see spread over these next few
pages.

Michael
isn’t the sort of bloke to leave his motors standard for long and it was no
different with his latest purchase. With the Adam hot off the forecourt it was
straight back to his place to get things started. As is the case with most
builds, his first port of call was to drop that chassis as low as it could go.
Rather than going for air-ride, Michael decided to go static, so a set of
Lowtec coilovers were fitted up in place of the standard suspension. After a bit
of tweaking with the C spanner the car was dropped hard, he even added a bit of
cheeky camber for good measure! Of course all this hard work was useless
without a tasty set of boots to finish it off. Michael has opted for a tidy set
of 8x17in BBS RC090 wheels. Before fitting them to the car the centres were
painted blue and the rims wrapped in stretchy Nankang 195/40x17 tyres.

When
it came to the exterior, the little Adam had it ticked from the factory floor. Michael’s
Opel came complete with the optional OPC line pack 1, which gives it a much
meatier look than the standard body. The pack is made up of a front and rear
lower splitter, a pair of side skirts, rear roof spoiler and a sports exhaust
tip. And because the kit is made from OEM parts, that means that the fitment is
also spot on and Michael hasn’t had to spend time adjusting it to get it right
– easy!. The car has been finished in eye-popping yellow with black roof,
mirrors and grille. Despite the clash of colours the blue centred rims look
killer tucked up in the arches. The yellow and black theme continues inside
with the dash, centre console and door cards all being finished to match.
Keeping Michael comfy on his daily commute are set of black leather trimmed
seats that complete the interior nicely.

Michael
has done a top job of taking a fairly overlooked motor and showing us what can
be done with a bit of inspiration, good work our Belgian friend!
