>>>step-by-step: Changing User Account Settings
You can customize the settings for your
own account or those of others—if you’re the Administrator—by using the
user account tools in Windows 8. You can change the account name and
picture, set other account controls, or even delete the account if you
like.
1. On the Start screen, type user accounts. The Settings screen appears, showing the results of your search.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click User Accounts on the left side of the Settings screen.
4.
In the User Accounts dialog box, click Change User Account Control
Settings if you want to change when Windows 8 notifies you if programs
are trying to make changes to your computer.
5. Tap or
click Change Your Account Type if you want to change your account from
Standard to Administrator or from Administrator to Standard.
6. To change the settings for another user account, click Manage Another Account.
7. In
the Manage Accounts dialog box, click the user account you want to
change. The Change an Account dialog box appears, listing options for
the ways you can modify the selected account. You can add parental
controls to the user account, change the account type (from Standard to
Administrator or vice versa), or delete the account.
