Getting help in
Windows 7 was easy: Click the Start menu and choose the Getting Started
command to open the Windows 7 Help system. Guess what—Windows 8 is just
as easy, but you have to look in a different place. The key to getting
help in Windows 8 is to access the Search function and enter the topic
for which you want help. Windows 8 Help is just as extensive as ever,
and with the improved Search function you can get help much more
quickly.
To access the Help home page
1. To open the Charms bar, swipe from the right edge of your display or press 
+C.
2. Tap or click the Search charm.
3. Enter help into the Search box, and then click the Help and Support app .

4. On the Windows Help and Support home page , enter the topic you want help for and tap or click the Search icon.

Click any of the buttons to open the Help system for that topic.
To access help on a specific topic,
feature, or application, enter a search string appropriate to that item
within the Help system. For example, you could enter the term lock screen or gestures. The menu in the lower-left corner of the Help app indicates that it is connected to online content.
Tip
Press the F1 key to summon help on the Desktop
and in most Windows programs. Although it doesn’t work on the Start
screen or in the tile-based apps, it does work in most legacy
applications.

Help shows the answers
to only the most common problems. The links under the More to Explore
section take you to the Windows website and to Microsoft Answers, where
you can view online content and go to support
