2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster – It seems that this British company doesn’t enough just to produce one model of super car. Not long since it unveiled the next generation Aston Martin V12 Vantage in coupe version, now it is proudly shown off the convertible version along with a little disappointing news that this new sport car line up from Aston Martin will only be manufactured limitedly for 101 units and sold in selected markets worldwide.
Exterior
The V12 Vantage Roadster doesn’t have so much difference in the technical and specification features from the Coupe version. The only thing that exactly different in this exclusive sport car will take an open top form which clearly will look ore stunning than the V12 Vantage Coupe. It also could be distinguished from the carbon fiber material that used on the side trikes, mirror caps, and rear lamps infill. Addition of black border around the rear lamps and Aston Martin’s logos with black background also give another new look to the convertible sport car. To improve the performance, 2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage roadster receives a redesigned boot lid and lower air intake, while the using of Pirelli P Zero CorsaTyres also supposed to give another dramatic performance and great handling. New design also applied to the rear spring, while the rear damper set-up has been modified as well as valve tuning of the rear and front damper which become an inclusion of chassis revision. Vivid flip is one of the updates for the rear side, giving it chance to reduce rear lift and stability improvement in high speeds. The sporty profile is finally completed with large twin tailpipes located in the Roadster’s rear diffuser.
Interior
2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster’s interior also essentially has no major difference from the Coupe Version. To maintain its exclusivity and stand out from the other V8 and V12 sibling, the Roadster gets glass switches in the lower center stack instead of the common black plastic. Completing luxurious image of the cabin, costumers also will be allowed to personalize their Roadster’s interior with carbon interior pack as one of the option.
Engine
Exactly the same engine like the coupe version is equipped under the Roadster’s hood too. A 6.0 L V12 that propels 510 hp (little bit slower than 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia and 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante) and 420 lb-ft of torque which is coupled with six-speed manual gearbox transmission. The same acceleration of 4.2 seconds for 0-60 mph will also obtain from the engine system.
Price
The company has not announced the price tag, but one of U.K dealers has reported an order of £150,000 or $235,000 for having one of the units.
