After being the top-selling pickup in Australian market, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler continues its invasion to the segment of large pickup lineup. Until now, there are more than 14 million trucks have been sold around the world, and about 700.000 units have come to Australian market. It indicates that the car remains the dominant player in its segments and it’s certainly among the best-selling trucks in Australia. The company has added several upgrades including upgraded emission standard to Euro-4, updated automatic transmission, upgraded performance, more efficient fuel injection system and addition of center headrest on rear double cab seat.

Interior

Inside the 2014 Jeep Wrangler, there will be side curtain airbags, sports front seats, cruise control, a brand new dashboard, new steering wheel, new audio systems and new centre stack with much easier operation. Towards the entertainment features, the Wrangler has been included with the brand new sound systems which include single CD version with 3-line text display, Bluetooth phone connectivity, voice recognition and AUX/USB inputs. Other standard interior features of Wrangler are cloth upholstery, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and split-folding and reclining rear seats.

At the first glance, you will notice that the latest Toyota Wrangler comes with the significant styling changes at the most recent update such as 17-inch wheels, double-wishbone front suspension, power folding mirrors, intermittent wipers, rear defogger, intermittent rear wiper and rear privacy glass, height-adjustable power lift-gate, skid plates, hill-start assist, hill descent control, fog lights brand new bonnet, grille, headlights, and front bumper along with the body-color radiator grille with chrome trim for the SR grade.

Engine

Under the hood, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is powered by a 2.7-litre 4-cylinder DOHC turbo-diesel that will produce 126kW of power at 3600 RPM and maximum torque of 343 Nm between 1400-3400 RPM (stronger than 2014 Mazda 3). There will be also the Toyota Wrangler with 4.0-litre and V6-powered engine that may generate 175kW of power and peak torque of 343Nm or 376Nm using automatic or manual transmission. When mated with the automatic transmission, this engine will allow Wrangler to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds. The estimated fuel economy of this pickup truck is at 18 mpg city or 24 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined with four-wheel-drive system.

The price range of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler may start from $45,550 – $49,450. The strong challengers of this compact truck will be the Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu D-MAX and Volkswagen Amarok.
