2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is actually the most affordable AMG on the market. The car is intended to compete with Audi and BMW models. But there’s also consideration that this model can annihilate the rivals with its performance capabilities. This brand new vehicle will be making its debut in the world at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and will be available to purchase in April. As a matter of fact, this is the first high-performance car that has been offered in the compact class and the company claims that it will target the age range from 30 to mid-40.

Interior

The interior of 2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG will include the mix of several AMG features. There will be a pair of sports seat of ARTICO hand-made leather or it is also known as DINAMICA microfiber with the red contrasting top-stitching. Customers can also enjoy the dashboard trimmed in carbon fiber with five contrasting air vents (in black or red), an AMG instrument cluster along with the multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles.

Exterior

The significant distinction between the 2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG and the standard A-Class is the more muscular look. Similar with other AMG models, this brand new car will boast the AMG front apron painted in matte titanium grey along with the twin-blade radiator grille. On the back side, there will be the rear apron with highlighted air outlet openings on the sides, the matte grey diffuser along with the two square and chrome-plated tailpipes.

Engine

Towards the performance, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG sports the 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine that can generate a total of 360 hp ( faster than 2013 BMW I3 but also slower than 2014 McLaren P1) and a peak torque of 331 pound-feet of torque. The engine is also backed up with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission that will assists providing the engine’s power to the entire 4 wheels thanks to the sophisticated Mercedes AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. Moreover, the engine has also been packed with the really efficient cooling system that is based on the cooling system of the SLS AMG model. This cooling system has the advanced electric pump, the large cooler section at the front level along with the additional cooler in the wheel arch.

Price

As mentioned earlier, the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG will make its world’s first appearance at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and will be available to purchase in April. The automaker states that the prices will be announced at a later date.
