Hyundai Elantra/GT

Minor A 2.0L I-4 engine introduced for the 2014 model year is standard on the Elantra GT hatchback and Sport-trimmed sedan, while the Coupe is gone for 2015. The sedan has a 145-hp 1.8L I-4, and the 2.0L unit is good for 173 hp. The Elantra Sport sedan now offers a tech package, while the GT hatch gets a revised front grille as well as restyled 16- and 17-inch wheels.

Avoid Challenging Mazda3s on winding roads, but the Sport- trimmed sedan does have plenty of curb appeal.

With the I-4 gone, the lineup now starts with a new base trim 3.8L car that might give the rear-drive sports car a chance for those who look beyond Mustang and Camaro. LED daytime running lights are now standard on all trims and the Grand Touring trim has been discontinued.
