2015-2016 New Cards List For You (Part 33)

Scion FR-S

Base Price $25,655

Body Type Coupe

Minor The 2015 FR-S gets a more rigid front suspension and retuned rear shocks for less body roll and a more communicative driving experience, says Scion. Exterior updates include larger exhaust tips and a shark-fin antenna, while the interior gains automatic headlights, carbon-fiber look dash trim, and a redesigned key. Steel and Halo paint options replace Argento and Whiteout.

Driver's Choice The six-speed manual is always the correct answer

Scion iQ

Base Price $16,500*

Body Type Hatchback

Unchanged Nothing new here, and to be honest, were a little surprised the Scion iQ soldiers on for another year. The 94-hp 1.3-liter engine makes it one of the least powerful vehicles for sale and gives it one of the slowest 0-60 mph times at 10.8 seconds. Our own testing has shown it to wander on the freeway, be unstable during braking, and return poor fuel economy given its size and performance.

Look For Lease payments lower than your cellphone plan.

Scion tC

Base Price $19,965

Body Type Hatchback

Minor After last years refresh, changes to the 2015 Scion tC are minimal, though we expect Scion to continue to offer limited- edition models throughout the year. The six-speed automatic gains Dynamic Rev Management technology and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Classic Silver and Super White paint colors have been replaced by Cosmic Gray and Blizzard Pearl.

Driver's Choice Stick with the manual if the FR-S doesnt fit into your budget.

Scion xB

Base Price $19,000*

Body Type Hatchback

Unchanged The original xB won over buyers with honest, utilitarian styling that perfectly matched the usable interior packaging and affordable price. The second generation attempted to become more stylish and lost some of its charm trying to be something it wasnt. The decently spacious xB may roll into 2015 with minor changes.

Look For A wide variety of personalization options on this boxy four-door hatchback.

Smart Fortwo/Cabriolet/Electric Drive

Base Price $14,020-$28,750

Body Type Hatchback, convertible

Unchanged The Smart Fortwo remains the smallest, slowest new car you can buy in America, but not the most efficient. The little car is completely unchanged for 2015, regardless of model. It will be replaced by an all-new car in calendar year 2015 as a 2016 model. Currently, the Fortwo is offered as a hatchback and convertible, with the lower-volume electric variant available in both body styles.

Cool Fact Texas is one of Smarts bigger markets.
