Building a fresh civic in 2013 is no
easy task
We live in a world of styles and scenes.
Whether it's the car you drive or the clothes you wear, someone somewhere will
label you part of a certain culture. And more often than not, we find ourselves
quickly associating (and tailoring) our lives around it.
This is all too present in the modifying
world. Euro, stance, drifting terms which not only describe a style of car
tuning, but also influence the people we call friends and our attitude towards
others. Internet forums and Facebook Groups make it easier than ever before to
'fit in' with like-minded enthusiasts, but only if you're prepared to follow
those unwritten rules each scene brings with it.
The
Civic Jordan is a limited run of only 500 cars in the world, produced in 1999
The Honda community is one of the best
examples of this. At the heart of it lies a group of passionate, well-informed
owners who take immense pride in the cars they drive. But for newbies entering
this scene, it's very easy to get lost in a sea of negativity. Negativity which
has been caused by over two decades of modifying tuners and 'ricer' owners
bragging about street racing before setting up camp in the nearest ditch. Hell,
we've all giggled at the 'VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO!' pictures circulating on the
internet...
Don't get me wrong, anyone can become part
of this scene regardless of how they modify their car. But it takes time,
effort and experience to gain respect from those die-hard enthusiasts. It's
even more difficult for those looking to start a company tailored towards these
owners, something Davinder Plaha of Endless Horizon Motorsport knows all too
well.
Established back in 2009, Endless Horizon
Motorsport is now one of the UK's premier Honda tuners thanks to the hard work
of Davinder and his business partner Dom. The pair work perfectly together –
Dom looking after the mechanics and Davinder the marketing and sales.

Big name brands including Skunk 2, Spoon
Sports and Competition Clutch are all available from the Northampton-based
specialists, but what really makes Endless Horizon stand out from the
competition is the way they support and communicate with the Honda scene on a
daily basis.
Reputation is everything in this industry.
So whether it's phone, Facebook or forum, Endless Horizon will to offer advice
for both customers and non-customers.
In addition to those big tuning brands,
Endless Horizon support smaller tuners from across the world that develop great
products albeit on a smaller scale. Sheepey Inc. fabricates some of the best
turbo manifolds money can buy and Endless Horizon is proud to offer their
product to the UK market, supporting the Honda tuning industry on a worldwide
scale.
You only have to look at Davinder's Civic
Jordan to see this attitude in full effect. It's the result of over seven years
of hard work and development, combining just about every great element of the
Honda scene – quality, performance and innovation.

Tried and tested upgrades such as the
Integra Type-R sub-frame show purists that Davinder has done his homework,
while the 8x15in Cades wheels push the boundaries with exterior upgrades. And
that's not even looking at its party piece - the engine.
"I've just always wanted a boosted
Honda", Davinder explains. He's taken inspiration from across the world
while building this immense setup. "But it had to be done right. I owned
the turbo kit for 2-3 years before I fitted it. I could've put it onto the
standard B16a but I wanted to build something really special. My research led
me to use the lower-compression B18c4 engine, perfect for turbocharging. This
also allowed the engine bay to be smoothed and wire tucked at the same time –
popular modifications in the Honda scene and something which really shows off a
quality service", he adds.
The
dashboard is plain to the eye, and the performance nature of the car only given
away by the high redline at 8000rpm
The end result is one of the best-looking
engine bays we've ever seen, but now Davinder's become accustomed to the 340hpb
on tap, he's already planning a 600bhp, fully-forged replacement engine. In
fact, there's plenty more in the pipeline, including a new dashboard, custom
roll-cage and a Racepack digital dash. "We are always trying to push the
boundaries without staying too far away from our core market", adds
Davinder. "The Civic represents all the work Endless Horizon Motorsport
can offer, and the quality of the work which speaks volumes in this industry.
When you gain respect from such a passionate group of owners it's hugely
rewarding, but the real task is staying on top of your game – something we're
confident Endless Horizon Motorsport offers."
