Liquid-cooled two-stroke engines power
KTM's two smallest Moto Crossers. The 50SX has a single-speed transmission with
adjustable automatic clutch, while the 65SX has a six-speed gearbox. The
standard 50 rolls on 12- and 10-inch wheels but the 50SX Mini offers the
littlest racers 10-inch wheels and a low 558 mm seat height. The 65 has 14 and
12 inchers. Among the upgrades for 2012 were a new throttle grips for the 50,
stiffer four-piston front brake calipers on the 65, and redesigned WP fork and
shock for both machines.

has been significantly updated to maintain a competitive edge. KTM says the
engine has been completely overhauled, including a more compact cylinder and
centrifugally controlled exhaust valve, resulting in more efficient cylinder
charging. The shock and 43 mm inverted fork have completely new damping
settings and are fully adjustable. It has a new chrome-molybdenum steel frame
and aluminum bolt-on sub-frame.

durable taillight/ license plate holder. This year the 350 has a new clutch,

350SXF-inspired engine, with a shorter stroke, bigger bore and intake valves
and a counter balancer that runs on the same shaft as the water pump and timing
chain. The 250 is now electric start only, like the 350 and 450, and the two
smaller SXFs have redesigned exhaust systems. Among the 350's engine upgrades
are a new cylinder head, die-cast cases and the throttle body is now two mm
larger at 44 mm. The 450SX-F Factory Edition has many refinements aimed at race

The $4,999 KX100 is designed to bridge the
gap encountered by budding racers between the smaller KXs and the full-on 250 race
machines. It has a 99 cc two-stroke engine and the same brakes as the KX85. The
inverted 36 mm cartridge fork has 18-way compression damping, and the Uni-Trak
shock can be adjusted by four-way compression and 16-way rebound damping, as
well as for spring preload. A generous 275 mm of travel at both ends allows
plenty of room for fine-tuning.
