The new Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolets revealed at the Los Angeles motor show boast 320km/h top speeds and power up to 411kW. Power comes from a newly developed turbocharged version of Porsche’s 3.8-liter flat-6 petrol engine developing 382kW in the 911 Turbo cabriolet and 411kW in the 911 Turbo S cabriolet. Official 0-100km/h figures are 3.5 and 3.2 seconds respectively while top speed for both models is 320km/h. In spite of all that, Porsche says 911 Turbo cabriolet fuel economy has improved by up by 30%. The open top pairing follows closely on the heels of the recently introduced 911 Turbo and Turbo S coupe, in a unique body that is 28mm wider than that of the widest of existing 911 models, the Carrera 4. A revised fabric roof, now fitted with a lightweight magnesium frame, opens and stows in a dedicated compartment behind the cabin in 13 seconds at speeds up to 60km/h.
