2013 Detroit Auto Show has chosen by this Japanese Automaker to firstly show their new concept car, Toyota Corolla Furia Concept which is set to be the next generation of Corolla Altis. It will not take a long time to realize the concept to the production version since the company’s representative has said that the Corolla Furia is likely to make its debut this year.

Exterior

Toyota Corolla Furia Concept boasts an “iconic dynamism” design theme that creates something new to the vehicle. Compared with the outgoing Corolla Altis, the Furia’s dimension will be 60 mm longer and the wheelbase will also be 100 mm longer. This car is more stylish than 2014 Kia Sorento. Over all, it will bring 4,620 mm of length, 1,805 mm of width, and 1,425 mm of height. Besides the dimension, its full LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, and carbon fiber accented body in orange paint work has become other highlights that could capture the costumer’s hearts right away. The front part looks stunning with the extension of LED lights’ “eyebrow” towards car’s front end center, completed with vertical LED light strips at the corner of the front fascia. The large grille is surely stolen from the Avalon’s style, but the Furia has is own style to combine it with more sharply established sheet metal. Toyota Furia Concept offers abundant stock of carbon fiber accents that could be found everywhere around the car. Smooth character line floating around the sides, somehow reminds us of Suzuki Kizashi sedan. Fine taillights that spans to the center of the vehicle and dual exhaust pipes are integrated to sheet metal.

Interior

Since the concept just unveiled only the exterior design, there’s nothing to talk about the interior design. Regarding to its nice and stunning exterior design, as well as its bigger dimension, we could be sure that Toyota Corolla Furia’s cabin will be more spacious than the outgoing Corolla. The company also should understand more about the costumer’s need by giving the best interior design in order to keep the good selling record that is believed not only maintained by style but also substance.

Engine

Unfortunately, the company also has not released the official announcement about the powertrain used for the Furia. One thing for sure, this next generation of Corolla will have minor increase of EPA-rated fuel economy since the latest Corolla is placed near the bottom of its class. We still hope the company culd bring another interesting fact for the upcoming Corolla, just to fill the costumer’s curiosity.
