The German premium carmaker has finally unveiled the 2013 BMW Concept Active Tourer to the public. The company claims that this car is basically the fastest Tourer model that they ever built due to its adoption of the turbocharged engine from the new BMW Concept. This sports car will make its debut on 2013 at the International Auto Show in the United Kingdom.

Interior

Inside the 2013 BMW Concept Active Tourer, you will have an abundant and fresh equipments such as special RS seats, stainless steel pedals and sill plates, a new instrument panel, black trim and vRS badges, ambient lighting around the inside door handles, optional adaptive cruise control, intelligent light assist, automatic park assist, road sign detection and three-spoke steering wheel with perforated leather. For the safety features, the Active Tourer has been added with multi collision braking, lane assist system and 9 safety airbags. That’s why this car is smaller than Toyota Corolla Furia Concept.

Exterior

Towards the exterior features and design, the Active Tourer will be equipped with brand new darkened headlamps, black stripes that imitate the non-existent bumper protectors, new front and rear bumpers with 2 exhaust pipes and bigger air-vents, a cover up of the LED daytime running lights on the corners of the front bumpers, the chunky brake discs with red calipers, the rear spoiler, the twin trapezoidal exhausts, bi-xenon head lamps with the standard LED lights, and 3 different alloy wheels namely 17, 18 and 19 inches. In addition, there will be also the honeycomb air intakes, a black rear diffuser, sports suspension and also a new multi link axle at the rear as a way to improve cornering abilities of the new Active Tourer.

Engine

In terms of performance, there will be twp engine choices available for the BMW Concept Active Tourer namely a 2.0L TSI petrol engine and a 2.0L TDI diesel engine. The petrol engine will produce 220 horsepower with a six-speed manual transmission. When using the TSI engine, Active Tourer can accelerate from zero to 100 MPH in about 6.8 seconds with the top speed of 248 Km/h. The diesel engine will deliver 184 horsepower with either six-speed manual transmission or DSG gearbox. With the diesel engine, Active Tourer will sprint from standstill to 100 MPH in approximately 8.1 with the top speed of 232 Km/h.
