Configuring Social Network Settings
The People hub provides access to a Settings
page that enables you to customize your phone’s behavior. Some of these
settings are Facebook specific and others relate solely to the People
hub. You can access these settings by opening the People hub, tapping the Menu icon, and selecting Settings.
The Settings screen contains these settings:
A. Import SIM Contacts: This option does not exist on every Windows Phone 8 device. On devices that accept SIM cards, this option can import contacts.
B. Filter My Contact List:
You can tap the Filter My Contacts List button and then choose which
account’s contacts show up in the People hub. All contacts remain
searchable, regardless of whether you choose to filter them.
C. Hide Posts from the Contacts I’ve Filtered:
You can use this setting, which applies to feeds incoming from social
networks to which you’re connected, to prevent uninteresting posts from
cluttering your profile.
D. Sort List By: You can choose to sort your contacts by either first name or last name.
E. Display Names By:
The People hub displays your contact’s names in alphabetical order.
This setting controls whether the list is organized according to first
name or last name.
F. Use My Location: This setting controls whether your phone is allowed to use your GPS information when you check in at a location.
G. Save Check-In Searches and Locations with My Microsoft Account to Improve Search Results: You can choose whether your check-in history is saved with your Microsoft account.
