Windows 8 : Internet Explorer 10 - Settings (part 2) - To display Internet options

4. To display Internet options

1. Click the Settings charm in the Charms bar .

2. Select Internet Options from the Settings bar .

To delete your browsing history

Click the Delete button in the Internet Explorer Settings bar to delete your cookies, history list, temp files, and stored passwords.

To remove geolocation permission

Use the Ask For Location slider to turn off the ability of a website to locate you—even sites you previously allowed.

To zoom in or out

Use the Zoom slider.

To turn off the Flip Ahead function

Use the Turn On Flip Ahead slider to enable or disable this feature. It’s hard to foresee a situation when you would want to turn this useful feature off.

To enable page encoding

1. Move the Select Encoding Automatically slider to On.

2. Select the encoding type from the drop-down list.

3. Select whether the document is encoded left-to-right or right-to-left.


Tip

To go directly to the Internet Explorer Settings bar, press Image+I.



Tip

Hold the cursor in the upper-right corner of the display to show charms related to Windows 8.



Tip

Use encoding only when the web page is in another language.
