2014 Chevrolet Malibu – After releasing all new Chevrolet Malibu last year, General Motors is ready to launch its 2014 model year with a little cosmetic tweaks and improvement in some of its features. The next generation of Chevrolet Malibu is scheduled to be released in late this year or early 2014 along with its official price tag.
Exterior
Many reactions and arguments come as this American Automaker dropped the official image and announce some details of 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. The company and some people who find it as interesting improvement say that this revised sedan look fresher than the outgoing model. It indeed looks different since its front end look has been revised, and replacement of the old grille with more premium-look one. On the contrary, the rest say that 2014 Chevrolet Malibu’s redesigned is just a constant disappointment, considering that the new design and all over exterior styling somehow makes this Malibu more looks like Chevrolet Impala, but in the smaller version.
Interior
It seems that the disappointment doesn’t continue to the interior design, as automotive experts and enthusiasts out there could still distinguish it from the larger Impala. 2014 Chevrolet Malibu has made some improvement for its cabin. 1.25 inches of extra space on the rear area makes the new Malibu becomes roomier than the previous version. It also happen the same for the leg room in the front seats, where it has been reshaped and result in more comfortable room especially for your knee, while slimmer layer for the back seats make you sit deeper. For the driver’s tools, it seem that the center console has increased in length, besides new Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert Safety option are also available. One thing that Malibu should maintain from the old version is its hidden storage space behind the dash’s touch screen, better if it gets bigger now.
Engine
Upgrades are still happen in the engine line up and technology, including new suspension and braking system. New 2.5 Liter 4V engine will be equipped as its power plant, producing 196 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. Good news is, this engine now has received SAE-certificate and claimed to have 5% better gas mileage, which means better driving experience than the outgoing Malibu will be yours. 2014 Chevrolet Malibu also offers 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that delivers 259 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, which is 14% higher than the first engine option. All type of 2014 Chevrolet Malibu will be equipped with Engine Stop-Start Technology which has a big role for its better efficiency and power. Unfortunately this car is slower than 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S engine specs.
