2014 Cadillac ATS-V – After the success release of 2013 Cadillac ATS sedan as one of its luxury brand line up and compete with other well known German rivals including BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz 3 Class, and Audi A4, this year General Motors is proudly announced their more powerful sedan version of the outgoing ATS which called 2014 Cadillac ATS-V.
Exterior
As performance-oriented version of Cadillac ATS, this new ATS-V’s improvement must dominate the engine line up and performance features. However, it doesn’t mean that we could not find some new stuff or upgrade both on its profile and interior design. 2014 Cadillac ATS-V gets low front spoiler and big central intakes along with secondary intakes or fog-light housings. Compared to the current ATS, the performance version seems to has wider and rear bumpers that result in fitting wider tires which is supposed to provide more grip especially in the rear area. Still on the front part, the ATS-V also received a new mesh grilles and lowered side sills. Regarding to the concept, it indeed gets quad-exhaust system, but when it comes to production version, the ATS-V is considered enough with just dual exhaust system. This matter actually doesn’t make it immediately lose its sporty look, but compared with BMW M’s line up which has used quad-exhaust system for almost a decade, this could be little drawbacks for 2014 Cadillac ATS-V.
Interior
2014 Cadillac ATS-V is scheduled to be released in late this year or early 2014. Until then, the company insists on not unveiling so much information, this is why the interior design of this ATS-V is so difficult to get. From the official image that has been dropped by the company, it is look elegant in black theme at most parts of the cabin, while the sport seats look strong and bold in red upholstery. We just hope whatever the company put inside, it must create its own premium taste since this ATS-V line up is expected to repeat the success of its standard ATS, and bigger CTS brother.
Engine
470 hp V8 engine was initially brought as its powertrain, but considering it will be take sales away from its bigger brother, the CTS-V, since both used the same engine. Finally, it is sure that 2014 Cadillac ATS-V will be equipped by 3.0 L V6 TwinTurboCharged engine that delivers 380 hp through either six-speed manual or automatic transmission. 2014 Cadillac ATS-V will run from 0-60 mph in just 5 seconds, while its top speed could be above 170mph.
Price
To make it comfortably away from the CTS-V’s price of $65,000, the ATS-V is expected to has $55,000 of price tag. This price is less expensive than 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera price tag.
