2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray – Avoid calling it “Corvette” because the company would rather everyone calling it “New Corvette” since upgrades and improvement have been made in most parts of its body, engine, and interior design. Those teasing words surely make it become the most awaited car in 2013 Detroit Auto Show ever since a month before the event is held.
Exterior
Talking about the exterior design, General Motors seems know how to make its loyalists extremely happy. Different from its brother which generally has the same design language, the C7—or 2014 Chevrolet Corvette slightly gets all over distinctive look. The front part look more intimate than the previous generation, and if you go see this sedan from certain angle, you will catch that evil smile which really looks like challenging you to ride it. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is now equipped with industry-standard new LED daytime lights to complete its front part’s full redesign. Move to the rear area, which is all about the vents and tailpipes, this new Corvette looks bold in very aggressive design. Here we found that it still use the old type of taillights to keep its identity, and the trapezoidal design is much more looks like the Camaro.
Interior
Learning from its back track record in setting an interior design for most of the Corvette over the years, today’s generation of Chevrolet Corvette seems doesn’t receive that bad image. You will not find those cheap plastic materials that used to be in C6’s cabin, instead of soft-touch material that offers a first premium class for your cabin. Its two sport seats are comfortably covered in leather and its more body-hugging structure is very supporting its aggressive interior design and suitable for competition purpose. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray’s interior is now more focused on the drivers, with all the navigation systems and control located towards them. In the end its new peaceful, cozy comfortable cabin is considered as one of the best in American’s car.
Engine
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is equipped with one new engine that is completed with two systems as your option. A 6.2 L small-block V8 engine will produce 455 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque with standard exhaust system, while more power of 460 hp (faster than 2014 Nissan GT-R and 2014 Kia Forte Koup) and 465 lb-ft of torque is also available in performance exhaust system. All power will be transferred from new seven-speed manual gearbox with Active Rev Matching transmission.
