The 2014 Toyota Altis has been well-known for its well-rounded nature and long-standing history of dependability. So many car enthusiasts consider it as one of the top choices in the highly competitive mid-size sedan segment. The primary benefits of this sedan are the sturdy and fuel-efficient engines, comfy and roomy backseat and much better outward visibility. The new model has been added with interior enhancements which include brand new soft-touch front door panels and the armrests that match the interior color scheme. The Altis is available in four trim levels namely L, LE, SE and XLE trim levels.

Interior

Inside the 2014 Toyota Altis, you will notice that the dashboard comes with a layered design and stitched faux leather that covers the upper section. The other standard interior equipments are air-conditioning, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, trip computer, Bluetooth connectivity, six inches display and six-speaker sound system, CD player, HD radio, satellite radio, auxiliary audio jack and an iPod/USB audio interface. The SE version comes equipped with heated exterior mirrors, leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport seats and unique interior treatments. The XLE model provides a hard-drive-based navigation system with a bigger central display.

Exterior

For the exterior features, the all-new Altis L model packs a boomerang-style tail-lights, racier bumpers unique grille, 16 inches steel wheels with plastic covers, body-colored side mirrors, 17 and 18 inches alloy wheels, fog lights and power moon-roof (optional). The SE model comes with a sport-tuned suspension, 17 inches alloy wheels, fog lamps and heated exterior mirrors while the LE version has a softer suspension settings, heated exterior mirrors, fog lamps, a sunroof and a dual-zone automatic climate control.

Engine

Under the bonnet, the new Altis is powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that can generate 178 hp and 170 lb-ft. of torque. Using this engine, LE model can sprint from zero to 60 MPH in 8.4 seconds (average). The estimated fuel economy is at 25 mpg city or 35 highway and 28 combined. There will be also the optional 3.5-liter V6-powered engine that will deliver 268 horsepower (slower than 2014 Acura RLX and 2014 GMC Terrain)and 248 pound-feet of torque. With the V6 engine, the car can accelerate from zero to 60 MPH in approximately 6.6 seconds.

The price level of 2014 Toyota Altis starts from $22,235 – $24,800. The key competitors of this mid-size sedan are the 2014 Honda Accord, 2014 Hyundai Sonata and 2014 Nissan Altima.
