OneNote provides a special file format for transferring notebooks between computers. The file format is called OneNote Package (*.onepkg). To transfer a notebook to another computer, first save it as a OneNote Package file. Then move or copy this file to the second computer and open it. 1. Transfer a Notebook to Another Computer

  1. Open the notebook.

  2. Click File.

  3. Choose Save As.

  4. Choose Notebook.

  5. Choose OneNote Package (*.onepkg).

  6. Click Save As.

  7. In the Save As dialog box, choose a folder or disk for storing the OneNote package file, and click Save.

  8. Copy or move the file to the other computer.

  9. In OneNote on the other computer, click File.

  10. Choose Open.

  11. Click Open Notebook.

  12. In the Open Notebook dialog box, open the File Type menu and choose OneNote Single File Package.

  13. Select the notebook you saved as a OneNote package file.

  14. Click the Open button.
