Teaming
up for a fourth collaborative collection, Adidas Originals and Opening Ceremony
have unveiled their new baseball inspired collection for Spring/Summer 2014.
Sticking to an all-American theme for the new pieces, the designs are available
in patriotic red, white and blue. They've opted to revamp a very classic
baseball look and taken inspiration from the sport's rich history such as
vintage uniforms. The companies wanted an authentic baseball look to run
throughout the new collection: "Major League Baseball's official
spring training starts in a month, but you can start your season now with the
newest Adidas Originals X Opening Ceremony collection. Inspired by umpire
and players' uniforms from throughout the history of baseball, the vibrant
leather and sleek pinstriped pieces come in a bright red, white, and blue color
palette."
The
collection even includes several accessories designs, many finished in
luxurious white leather that fit in with the collection's tone. Baseball glove
stitching features throughout the collection of various clothing items and the
strong sports inspired look is very visible in every piece thanks to such huge
attention to detail. Adidas have also included their recent reissue of the Stan
Smith trainer as part of the collaboration: "Baseball glove stitching
adds texture to comfortable sweats, dresses, and jackets. Knock it out of the
park with cleats on sandals and chukka boots, alongside a reissue of adidas'
classic Stan Smith style. And with accessories like leather backpacks and caps,
you'll look good from the tailgate to the final inning. Let's play ball!"
The
collection is now available both in stores and online.
