Victoria
Beckham has always been incredibly ambitious when it comes to her fashion
design career - she's currently in the process of launching her first flagship
store in London and has just unveiled her latest mainline collection at New
York Fashion Week. Now, she has revealed plans to possibly extend her empire
further with a potential menswear line.
Victoria
opened up on the possibility of a menswear collection in a new interview,
stating that it's something she would love to explore further in the future if
she had the chance to do so. She also says she often uses men's tailoring in
her women's designs so she is already accustomed to it and loves how men's
clothes fit so much. Victoria said: “I’d love to do menswear at some
point, absolutely. I get very inspired by menswear — [my spring 2014
collection] was very inspired by men’s tailoring, and there’s the
boy-meets-girl fashion message throughout the whole collection.”
Victoria's
husband David is known for his stylish take on fashion and would be an obvious
point of inspiration for Victoria. When she was asked if her husband would be
her style muse for the possible collection, Victoria said that she thinks he
would be a great source of inspiration if she was designing for men. She joked
that he currently doesn't have time to take on the role right now
though: “Yes! Yes, actually… he’s a bit busy modeling underwear at the
moment!” The designer recently invited her whole family, including husband
David and their children to view her show at New York Fashion Week and said
that she wanted to share the moment with those close to her and give them a look
at what she does.
