British
designer Richard Nicoll has just been named as the new creative director of
British high street store Jack Wills. The designer, who has already found
plenty of success with his own namesake label, is looking to revamp the brand's
image and hopes he can bring something new to the company which was founded in
1999. Nicoll comments that he is excited to be a part of the team and looks
forward to developing the company stylistically: "I'm excited to be
working with Jack Wills, this is an opportunity to take a successful British
design aesthetic and drive forward the product and vision. Wendy [Jack
Wills CEO] has exciting plans to evolve the Jack Wills brand and I am looking
forward to being a part of that."
Jack
Willis CEO Wendy Becker commented that Nicoll is a great choice for the
company because he is a well-known British designer who has already proven to
be very talented and sought-after in his field. She adds that she believes
Nicoll will be able to successfully bring something fresh to the company that
will appeal to customers which ensures the brand's future: "His
collections have global appeal, but he is a British designer at heart and will
lead the creative direction of our brand into its next important
phase. His aesthetic and talent in designing for both men and women will
be a great match for our future vision for Jack Wills and reinforces our
commitment to having quality and design at our heart."
