Scenario/Problem:
You want to change properties such as the page layout of a publishing
page and the title of the page (that is displayed at the top of the
user’s browser and in the navigational breadcrumbs, and possibly in
other locations on the site), the caption for the page, the page’s
description, and the page’s image (which also might appear in different
locations on the site).
Solution:
How you change the properties of a page depends on what type of page
you are editing. The following sections cover the different options.
Edit Properties of a Wiki Page
A wiki page by default does not have any
properties except for the filename, which is also shown as the page’s
title. Selecting a good filename for a wiki page is important because
renaming the page breaks links to it.
To rename a wiki page, open it in your
browser and switch to the Page ribbon. Click on the Edit button to
switch to editing mode, and then switch again to the Page ribbon and
click on the Rename Page button, as shown in Figure 1.

If the wiki page library is configured to
have properties for the pages, the Edit Properties button in the Page
ribbon (refer to Figure 1) becomes available. If you click it, you see a page where you can edit the properties of the page.
Edit Properties of a Web Part Page
To edit the properties of a web part page,
open the page in your browser and switch to the Page ribbon. In the
ribbon, click the Title Bar Properties button in the Page Actions
section of the ribbon. A panel opens on the right of the page, allowing
you to set the page’s title, caption, description, and image (see Figure 2). (To set an image, type the link to the image in the Image Link box.)
