Reader is a very basic PDF reader that you can
use as an alternative to Adobe Reader. Windows Reader is simple to use,
immersive, and very fast, so it may have some appeal to you when you
are on the go.

To open a book or file
• Tap or double-click a PDF file.
• Tap or click the Reader tile on the Start menu; Reader opens to the last book or file page you were viewing.

To use Reader options
• Tap or click the Find button to search for a string in the document.
• Tap or click the Two Pages, One Page, or Continuous View buttons to alter the display type.
• Tap or click the Open button to open another file.
• Tap or click the Save As button to save the document as a PDF file with a name and location you choose.
• Tap or click the More button to view its menu . You can rotate the page 90 degrees, or view the file’s Info page (properties and permissions).

• To move up and down through the pages,
swipe up or down, use the scroll bar, or use your mouse’s scroll
button. Page Up, Page Down, the arrow keys, Home, and End work in Reader
the same as they do in all scrollable windows.
• You can select text and copy it or
save it to a PDF file. With a digital pen (like you find on the
Microsoft Surface), you can add ink-based notes.
• To print, press Ctrl+P. Or press +C, and select your printer in the Devices charm.
Tip
To zoom in, press Ctrl++ (plus); to zoom out, press Ctrl+– (minus). You can also use the pinch in or pinch out gesture to zoom.
