Diesel
has already paid tribute to the company's previous archived designs in one
'Tribute' inspired collection and now they've launched a second offering
inspired by the success. Diesel recently announced that they have a new
creative director, Nicola Formichetti, and he launched the first part of
the tribute line back in November. The collection includes several simple black
items inspired by the denim brand's long history that are reworked versions of
past items created by the original founder Renzo Rosso.
There
is an 11-piece collection available for Men including several staples that
would make a great addition to anyone's wardrobe - biker jackets, subtly
printed t-shirt designs and jeans, many featuring “heavy metal hardware”
and luxurious design features. Speaking on the tribute line, Formichetti
said that he was inspired by the idea of being able to honor the
“DNA of Diesel” and “bring the heritage into the digital world”.
The
designer also commented that he wished to show how the pieces are so
timeless that they fit right in with current collections with little effort. He
also wanted to make sure that they are high quality and long lasting, so each
piece in the collection has been handmade with great attention to
detail: “I wanted to show the strength of so many iconic pieces that
Diesel have offered throughout its 35 year history” I wanted to do
something handmade and almost like homage to Diesels history.”
The
new second part of the Diesel tribute collection is now available at Diesel
stores and online.
